Our room was very clean and well decorated, a huge comfortable bed, tv, fridge, armchair, en suite bathroom, air con, kettle and balcony furniture. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, our cases carried up to our room. Overall, a great place to stay in Sairee. We stayed at Balcony Villas for 13 nights whilst on Koh Tao. We also booked our return ferry through the owner who then offered us a taxi service to the pier. I would strongly recommend staying here if you like a quieter place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the beach area, fab views and warm welcoming staff. The dog at Balcony Villas barked at us to be begin with but soon accepted us, a friendly little fellow. Some of the rental places in Sairee keep your passport. Helmets were also supplied and we only had to provide a copy of our passport. We hired scooters from the owner which were very reasonable and made getting around much easier. I consider this to be an advantage, I don't always like having staff in my room each day and it's a waste of resources. We were asked each day if our room needed cleaning. We did not receive a daily maid service which to begin with I thought a bit strange, however, we didnt need it. This was ok for us as we enjoy the challenge and the view of the ocean from my bed every morning was very much worth the climb. We had asked for a sea view which meant we were high up! 100 steps to be exact. There was no hairdryer but I mentioned this to the owner, the very next day one arrived. We stayed at Balcony Villas for 13 nights whilst on Koh Tao. Certainly not a place we would go again and its also put us off koh tao as we see a lot more scams happening to foreigners.… The motorbike we hired also had bald tyres so if you get stopped you would be fined as its a traffic violation in Thailand. As you can see from the pictures this is just wear and tear from the seat hinge, we are not people who trash rooms, just travellers who like to see the world. The shower had no hot water but we didnt dare say anything as we would of probably been charged for the shower breaking. If the AC breaks you are probably going to be charged 10,000b+ £226 or $320, do you really want that risk?. We checked out early as we were scared something else would break. We understood what was happening so made the choice to find another accomodation and checked out 2 days early.

I spoke to the owner who was adamant theycouldnt buy just a seat, so I requested the toilet be changed during our stay so I could see the change and then other guests wont get the same scam applied to them, they said they couldnt get the toilet changed untill after songkran? I'm supposed to believe thay will be getting the full branded and full priced toilet and not just a 100b toilet seat?. 3rd day in we get told we must pay for the whole toilet because they could not buy just a seat? 2675b or £60 or $84 (at present exchange rate). Anyway, we kind of understand that we would of had to pay for the seat as we broke it but what came next was a shock. I work in an industry that provides the raw materials to make plastics and I can tell you that plastics become brittle with heat.

1st day, opening the toilet seat the back hinge snapped due to wear over time. Got to the resort and everything goes smoothly with checkin and bike rental, staff very friendly and helpful. you can do Pattaya to Bangkok, 120+km, airport for that, its either you take the taxi or walk the distance with heavy bags in the heat. The taxi cost 200b a person for a 5minute drive and it was not private so other people crammed in the taxi, 5 people=1000b for a 5minute or 2km ride?. HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL HotelĪsked if transportation from the pier to the hotel was offered, was told it was not available and to use a taxi.Hotels with Complimentary Breakfast in Koh Tao.
